MEMBERS • Victor Basumallick • Christina Burek • Steven Deutch • Peter J. Orlik
PURPOSE • Demonstrate the Integration of CAD/CAM Systems • Define Process/Operation Procedure for Manufacturing Parts • Develop Operation Sequence for Product Assembly
OBJECTIVES • Understand Assembly Process Under Pro/Engineer 2000 Environment • Create Parts List & 3-D Models for Required Components • Use Pro/E to Develop Cost Effective & Time Reducing Assembly Techniques
COURSE OF ACTION • Research • Assembly Analysis • Status of Assembly Process
RESEARCH • Basic Components Needed • Basic Layout • Functional Requirements • Creation of 3-D Models • Assembly Process
ASSEMBLY ANALYSIS • Screw four nuts onto the four dowels • Insert four dowels into three base plates, one at a time • Screw four remaining nuts onto the dowels
TEAM 4 STATUS • Tasks Completed • Created 3-D models • Created an animation showing the assembly process • Created movie file • Tasks Remaining • Create all 3-D models • Create final complete movie
SUMMARY • Preliminary animation complete • More work needs to be completed for final animation design • Team learned vital aspects of assembly and animation requirements
