Alexander’s Life • Alex was born on March 3, 1847 in Edinburgh, Scotland. • He was married and had 4 children.
Alexander’s life Cont. • He died on August 2, 1922. He died of diabetes at the age of 75.
Wheat De-husker First invention • One day Alex went to work with his friend at the age of 12 . • His friend’s dad owned a flour mill and he asked his friend what to do he said to de-husk the wheat. • Later that month he invented a mechanism that de-husked the wheat.
The Telephone • He invented the telephone in 1876. • The first phone was made Boston, Massachusetts.
Purpose of invention • Alexander accidently invented the telephone he was trying to make something that would send more than on telegram at a time.
How it works • When Alex invented the phone it had two parts and one part you held up to your ear and the other part you held and talked into . • The benefited our communications greatly because instead of sending letters you can now talk to each other.
Benefits • The phone started out not that good but it has helped us through the years making it easy for us to communicate from across the country. The phone has evolved so far that it has become the I-phone.
Reasons for favorite • Alexander is my favorite inventor because if the world did not have telephones we would not have that good of communication we would not be able to call 911 in case of emergencies .
