8. Relevans og overf�ringsverdi Reiselivs- og hytten�ring er satsningsomr�de for RURAL-omr�der. St�rre volum, samt endret bruks- og reisem�nster setter st�rre krav til kommunenes helse- og omsorgstjenester. �konomisk press i kommunene medf�rer krav til god planlegging og dimensjonering av tilbudet. Gr�nn Dal-kommunene har kun 4 % av Norges 375 000 hytter og er sammenliknbart med andre sj�/elv/fjell-omr�der. Resultatene og anbefalinger forventes � ha overf�ringsverdi b�de nasjonalt og i RURAL-samarbeidet

The challenge The basis for the project Everybody has a right of getting health and social care where they are staying, being an inhabitant or being a visitor The health and social services are mainly adjusted to the number of people who are living in the region. The municipalities have 3-4 doubled the number of people in the highseasons through out the year. How can the local authorities meet the increasing demand for health and social services? Volume Large variation of demand through out the year The use of holiday buildings and holiday travelling increase The traveling industry increase in all of the municipalities in the region Economically pressure in the lokal municipalities Emergency readiness, transport in nature and ambulance Large geografic distances A lot of extra challenges related to the mountains and to the sea - with emergency readiness, transport and service provision in practice.

15. The project Why To secure a good health and social service for the future. Emergency and careservices To both residents and tourists Goals Increase the knowlegde of the demand for emergency and careservices � today and for the future � and variation of demand through out the year and in the topseason Evaluate the demand of emergency and careservices of to day by the involved organizations. To illustrate the righs to good health and socialservices � to both residents and tourists. Estimate the changes in tourism, activities, use of cabins through out the year and increased investments in the travelling industry (volume, season, activities) Evaluate the demographical changes in our main markets

Objective Suggest how to maintain an efficient emergency readiness and a optimal use of resources in the municipalities � for both a shorter and a longer horizon Focus on the organizational structure, how and who to involve, cross-sectoral co-operation, information, use of new technologies and transportsystems etc. To illustrate actual new co-operation and sharing resources -between the municipalities - between the municipalities and other organisations. Activities to prevent the demand for emergency and care services Estimate the economically and practically consequenses Information and share transnational �best-practice� Use Internet as base for information to inhabitants, tourists and involved organizations. 18. Transregional and transnational elements High priority of developing the tourism in the RURAL-areas. The pressure at the municipalities healthcare services will increase, because of increased volumes, increased use of holiday cabins, trailers and boats and a change in the pattern of the travelling. This requires good planning. The Green Valley municipality co-operatin have about 4 % of the total 375 000 cabins in Norway and the tourism are comparative to other sea, river and mountain-areas. We hope and believe that the results can be a benefit for the rest of the municipalities in Norway and in the RURAL-co-operation in Europe.
