Overview of USDA Transition Process to UPS UPS has recently been awarded GSA’s DDS2 contract for all express and ground shipments. Effective immediately USDA will begin the transition process to UPS. All sites will need to be up and shipping ASAP. The following presentation will take you through an automated site that will allow you to sign-up for a new account, arrange for billing and supplies, and to be trained on the new shipping software. GSA has calculated that the new award to UPS will save the agency 7% or more on shipping costs alone. USDA is committed to complying with President Obama’s EO for Sustainability, Ups will help achieve those goals. Please follow the instructions contained within this presentation. Your PIN number will be: different by agency_. Please do not share this PIN with anyone who will not be authorized to ship packages. A few key points: • Where possible, please consolidate multiple users under one common account number. Reference fields will allow you to allocate the proper expenses to each user. The person who will own the account is the only one who will need to visit the website to sign-up. Account Number Email Account Notification This e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address provided by the person who has entered information on the site. It will provide them with their new UPS Account Number. It will also tell them a UPS representative will be calling them to complete the account implementation.
