Common Live Interconnection Bridgingfrom AFCEA challenge to possible NATO standard Technet Europe 2008 Prague, 16-17 October 2008
What is CO.L.I.BRI ? • It is not a system • It is not a platform • It is not a network • It is a Philosophy !
Common Live Interconnection Bridging 1. The Very Beginning
COLIBRI CHALLENGE: • Deploy and operate land forces within 6 (six) hours • Deploy and operate small forces as well as huge forces • Make civil / military operators safer • Unpredictable Scenarios • Unpredictable Resources
Training 2007 • NATO RESPONSE FORCE 11-12 (February 2008) • European Battle Group (2008-2009) • Air Expeditionary Task Force (2008-2009) • Combined Endeavor 2008
EXERCISES( Lessons Learned ) • Open Day 2006 • Open Day 2007 • Spring Flag 2007 • Combined Endeavor 2007
Force Protection • Is the maintenance of the security and health of all military personnel, a priority in military operations. Force protection standards are established by the force commander. They apply to all military personnel and include such measures as wearing protective gear, restricting movement in specific areas, requiring all travel in pairs and/or with two vehicles, and maintaining specific weapons requirements.
Information Sharing Networks • Examples are the CENTRIXS, the GRIFFIN (Globally Reaching Interactive Fully Functional Information Network), the CFBL (Combined Federated Battle Lab), and other MNIS network programs, as well as related cross-domain security programs associated with the sharing of information with foreign nations and forces, as an integrated MNIS solution to support the combined warfighting environment.
CIMIC • (Civil Military Cooperation Center) is the NATO term for a coordination mechanism between civilian and military entities, often a center that serves as a liaison between humanitarian, international, and local entities and the military.
