Fee types 75681 – Commonwealth Supported Places (CSP) 75682 - Vocational Government Funded (VGF). Contact website for actual fee 75683 – International Fee Paying (IFP) 75684 – Students over 20. Fee determined by provider.

Payments • Payments • $24 + $9 invoice fee by 5pm 30 September • $84 + $9.00 invoice fee by 5pm 12 November • $108 pay only by credit card by 5pm 10 December • Don’t forget the audition fee payments – must be paid on application • No audition or processing fee payment, no inclusion on lists to institutions therefore NO OFFER!

Special Entry Access Schemes • Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) is the umbrella program run by most institutions for applicants who have experienced educational disadvantage. • Ten categories all claims must be related to the categories • No evidence to support statements means no consideration for claim. • Always emphasise the impact not the issue
SEAS categories • Category 1: Mature age consideration • Category 2: Non-English speaking background • Category 3: Recognition as an Indigenous Australian • Category 4: Difficult circumstances • Category 5: Disadvantaged financial background • Category 6: Applicants from rural or isolated areas • Category 7: Under-represented schools • Category 8: Women or men in under-represented disciplines • Category 9: Disability or medical condition • Category 10: Refugee background.
Year 11/12 Special Consideration Assisting Year 11/12 students in the final two years of schooling • Cannot apply for circumstances for which you have had control. Sport • Cannot apply for circumstances for which you have lodged an Access and Equity category.
Special Year 11/12 Consideration • Health of Self or a family member • Death of a close family member or friend • Divorce or separation of Parents • Adverse living conditions • Excessive family responsibility • Refugee status
Scholarships • Some scholarships are for many reasons: • Not only for ‘smart’ students such under representation • Not only for ‘economic hardship’ • To apply for scholarships at Victorian institutions apply through the VTAC Scholarship process • The only cost is 15 minutes of your time…………..
Types of scholarships • Institutional Access and Equity Scholarships (IAES) • Commonwealth scholarships - Indigenous Commonwealth Scholarships (ICS) - need to lodge a scholarship application through VTAC • Merit scholarships offered by: Merit scholarships are awarded to students for academic achievement in Australian Year 12 or the International Baccalaureate (IB) in 2010, or equivalent qualification.
Scholarships continued…. • Indigenous Commonwealth Education Costs (ICECS) – valued at $2,254 (indexed annually) • Indigenous Commonwealth Accommodation Scholarships (ICAS) valued at $4,508 (indexed annually) • Indigenous Access Scholarships (IAS) are valued at $4,253 (indexed annually)
Supporting documentation for SEAS and Scholarships The same supporting documentation can be used for Category 9SEASDisability or medical considerationand Section 7: Scholarships Disability or medical consideration Online - indicate that the statement applies to both SEAS and Scholarship. HOWEVERThe online statement of support must be submitted by the SEAS closing date of 5.00pm on Friday 8 October 2010 - before the scholarship closing date!
Offers – two rounds • Single offer – preference level important • No payment, no offer! The application won’t be processed. • Available in newspapers (only those who give permission are included) • Monday 17 January 2011 (6.30pm (18.30hours)).
Offers cont… • Available on VTAC website to applicants: • 17 January 2011 (7.30pm or 19.30hours) • 4 February 2011 (2.00pm or 14.00hours).
VTAC PREFERENCE ORDER... When lodging your application you must consider the order of the courses listed. This is because when you get offers in round 2 or 3 you will only be able to receive offers for courses that are listed above the offers/courses you have accepted in previous rounds. This means that you should always put your courses into the system based on most desired to the least and you should ALWAYS ACCEPT your offers. If you have ordered the courses correctly, your most preferred course/s (preferences 1,2 and 3..) will be available for the maximum amount of time and rounds....

Offers continued….. Irregular offers • You can apply if: • You want to be considered for a preference listed lower than an offer you have received • You want to apply for a course not listed on your preferences. • Restrictions on applying for an Irregular Offer • international students are not eligible to seek an irregular offer • If you listed undergraduate preferences you are not eligible to seek an irregular offer and add Graduate Entry Teaching course or visa versa • Irregular offer advice to applicants • Make sure you have done extra requirements and/or meet prerequisites – otherwise you won’t be offered and are wasting your time • Do not send your form in the mail – there are no guarantees • Always telephone or visit the institution and don’t give up the form unless it is signed by both of you • A signed form means you have an offer and are no longer eligible for any other offers (including supplementary offers) • Only one form per applicant is allowed in the system. The first received will override any duplicates.
Supplementary offers In 2010 over 4,000 supplementary offers were made to students. They are available to students who say yes the relevant question in the application. AND Have not received any offer

Sue, and Barb can assist with this process. • Ensure you have all pre-requisite studies required for ALL your preferences and are aware of the ATAR scores. • Check to see if you meet requirements for scholarships SEAS and special consideration • Make an appointment time to complete VTAC application • START GOING TO OPEN DAYS!!!! 3. August 25 – Sept 10 Make and attend appointment with BARB, Sue or MR MAC . Make sure you have completed the preference sheet correctly before this appointment.
