Software Licensing Program Introduction • Under the Software Licensing Program (SLP), software discounts are negotiated with each software publisher based on forecasted state purchases.
Software Licensing Program Introduction (continued) • Discounts are passed on to both state and local customers through authorized resellers. • The SLP streamlines the purchasing process by reducing the need for individual departments and other public entities to conduct repetitive bids for their software needs

Legislative Update • AB 93 (Committee on Budget): Economic development: taxation: credits, deductions, exemptions, and net operating losses. This bill, effective January 1, 2014 abolishes the EZA preference and the LAMBRA preference. Legislative Update • AB 173 (Weber): Postsecondary education: Small Business Procurement and Contract Act. This bill extends the use of the Small Business option to the CSU, UC, and CCC. Legislative Update • SB 733 (Block):State contracts: disabled veteran business enterprise statewide participation goals: business utilization plan value. This bill would allow prime contractors to satisfy the DVBE participation requirements by using an approved Business Utilization Plan.
