Galileo Galilei • Born Feb. 15, 1564 in Pisa Italy. • Mathematician and philosopher. • Great renaissance engineer. • Got interested in spectacles. • Made first telescope almost immediately.
Galileo’s discoveries • Pointed his telescope to the heavens. • Discovered the moon’s relief and its oceans. • Studied the solar system particularly. • Discovered three of Jupiter’s moons.
