  3. NIE (CREATIVITY AT ITS BEST) Happiness comes from creative efforts. The joy of dreaming, creating and expressing your thoughts by drawing and painting is unparalled. The famous painter Pablo Picasso said, “Every child is an artist”. Armed with brushes and bright ideas, students from around 35 schools across Gurgaon participated in the competition.An overwhelming response from schools all over Gurgaon was observed in a collective consonance. Everyone was spell bound to see the budding artists equipped with colours & brushes merging the colours enthusiastically and animatedly, mesmerizing the audience. It was a day where we saw creativity exploding in every piece of art. It was a wonderful opportunity to think out of the box. The competition not only served its sole purpose but also gave a platform to display our vivid ideas and learned more by interacting with others.

  4. Junior Sports Meet Creative Sports are an integral part of the pre-school curriculum and necessary for their overall development. Children love to run and indulge in free play and they learn to play in cooperation with their peer group. Sports and games impart a sense of discipline, fellow-feeling, and togetherness. They teach the value of time and how it is important to note how a minute, a fraction of a minute and even of second decides the fate of a young sportsman in the field of competition. To inculcate sportsmanship and healthy participation, various sports events were held in the school for class I to V .The teachers conducted different relay races for the tiny tots. The Jack ‘n’ Jill Race, rabbit jump Lemon and Spoon Race, and Collecting the Balls Race was conducted for the children.Itwas a different experience for the children. They were full of energy and enthusiasm and cheered for their friends! Certificates were distributed to all the winners.

  5. Educational Trips Field trips add fun in the educational experience and enrich knowledge of the kids to give them the real time experience. GWPS firmly believes teaching in a unique way,” If a child cannot learn in the way we teach; we must teach in a way the child can learn.” This saying is indeed true; as the school wants its children to learn go beyond the textbooks and academics. With the same motive the School organized trip to Rail Museum,Toilet Museum, Red Fort, Indira Gandhi National Museum etc. for different classes.

  6. Adventure Camp All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’. Having credence in this popular proverb, the school arranged an Adventure Camp toDrona Farm for all the classes. They were exposed to many adventurous activities and rides . Children enjoyed the magic show ,Camel, bullock cart and tractor rides etc. which gave the students proximity to rural life. Even the timid ones were oozing with confidence and ecstasy after doing activities like wall climbing, balancing beam, commando crawl, bouncy, trampoline etc. The little ones had a day of fun and frolic in the lap of nature under the care and expert supervision of trained instructors and teachers.

Celebrations Children’s Day “Every child born into the world is a new thought of God, an ever fresh and radiant possibility” Children’s day was commemorated with immense joy, activities and events were specially organized for this day. Teachers organized different programs and events for the students. The campus was buzzing with excitement and joy as there were many activities, games for the students. The Children’s day celebration was full of gaiety and fervor for the little ones. The excitement and enjoyment of the student made every teacher contented.

  8. Celebrations CHRISTMAS Day Christmas waves a magic wand over the world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful. The much awaited festival of Christmas was celebrated with fervour and zeal. The students presented an array of interesting programs. The school echoed with Christmas carols and holy hymns sung melodiously by the school choir ushering in the festive season. The students presented a thought provoking skit which emphasized that Christmas was more than just Santa, cards, toys or gifts under the Christmas tree.Thechildren were filled with joy and excitement as Santa came dancing to the tune of Jingle Bells.

  9. FAREWELL CELEBRATIONS Adieu, Class 12th! Life won’ t be same again outside the confines of this school building but a whole new life , full of opportunities awaits them. The day was a fiesta devoted to the years spent together with friends and teachers to reminisce joyous moments. The students of class 11 regaled their seniors by putting up a gala event comprising of varied acts like singing, dancing, role play , games etc. The students also shared their memorable moments spent with their classmates, juniors and faculty. The Principal, Headmistress, Teachers and the students wished all the best to the outgoing students for success and accomplishments in all their future endeavors. The evening left the students with the memories, they are going to cherish in their life time. The courtyard , the corridors resounded with the laughter , excitement and exhilaration of these students.

Health Week Celebration: ‘The greatest Wealth is Health’ “ Good health adds life to years” BE SMART, EAT SMART Different activities were organized for the students in order to create interest and raise awareness towards the significance of maintaining good health throughout life. Children were told about the importance of fruits, vegetables and exercise to keep good health. Little ones of the school were taught the importance of hygiene and sanitation to remain healthy .It was a unique experience to come together for a week to promote actions that can improve our health. The students celebrated it with great aplomb by enhancing awareness about it.

  11. JUBILATION JUBILATION ANNUAL DAY. The right time to mould clay is when it is wet. The young minds of the small kids were given a shape when they gave performances on different social issues concerning our society during their annual show. The studens enthralled the audience with their wonderful performances on the Annual Day. The parents were thrilled after watching the mind-blowing performances of the children.

Wokshop for Students • A workshop on the topic 'Good Touch and Bad Touch' was organised to sensitize and educate the students of classes III-V about keeping them safe and protected during weird or unexpected situations . The students enacted the topic which was followed by showing a short film and open discussion session giving students important pointers and insight to judge what is good and what is bad for them. It will help the young students to be more aware and focused regarding their safety in and outside their homes • Exposure and Experience are the tools to make the child confident. Students of classes XI and XII participated in 'Workshop on Project' and prepared the variety of projects under the supervision of Professors and Graduates at NCU, Gurugram

Glimpses of Talent • SurbhiSiwachof Class XI Commerce showed her creativity in making YuvaSampadak( युवा संपादक)in DanikJagran and bagged first position in it.. • Raghav Mehta of VI A,NikitaYadav IX C, Daksh Jain VIII B, PriyaKarnIX C and Aditi Rai IX C also brought the laurels to the school by winning various prizes in Sanskarshala(संस्कारशाला ) • BarkhaLohia of VII C showcased her talent and secured third position in a Dance competition conducted by Star River Dance Fitness Studio. • Greenwoodiansadded one more feather in the cap by bagging medals in 8th Inter Roller Skating Beginners Meet held at ManavRachna School, Sector 51, Gurugram.. • The winners in different categories are: • Gold : TamannaV B, Anushka (V C) • Silver : Nishan Malik ( II Tulip), Neha Kataria(V A) , SakshiMalik (V A) • Bronze : Siya(V D), Vanshika ( III A) • The school also bagged the overall trophy for securing second position in this event.

Glimpses of Talent Moments of Proud • Young shooter *Nischal Singh* of Class VIII represented the school and created history by scoring a *hat trick of Gold medals* in the National Level *CBSE Inter School Sports & Games Competition 2017*. She has won Gold medal in the Under 14 Air Rifle Shooting for three consecutive years. We all are proud of you..... • . • Greenwoodian skaters participated enthusiastically in the 10th District Roller Skating Championship at Baliawas Skating track. • KanikaYadav of Class IX won 2 silver and 1 Bronze medal in Quads 1000m, 500m and 3000m (Road) race. • YajyaPuri of Class VIII won 2 Bronze and 1 Silver medal in Quads 1000m, 500m and 3000m (Road) race respectively

  15. School Activities & Competitions • Every event at Greenwood is an opportunity for students to showcase their talents and capabilities and learn new skills. We always strive hard to provide new avenues for overall development of the children. In this endeavour various competitions and activitiers were conducted in the school. • Class VII students recited Hasya RasKavitawhich was enjoyed a lot by all the students.

  18. I AM THE CHEF TODAY ‘Kids Kitchenette’ The kitchen can be a fascinating place for young kids. The Preparatory children got an opportunity to showcase their talent in ‘Kids Kitchenette’ to prepare some quick fix dishes to reveal their efforts and get hands-on experience. The motive of the event was to instill a sense of respect in them about the calorie factory at home.
