  2. The Appeal • It was urgent. • It was expressed with humility. • It was an honest appeal. • It was direct.

  3. In the Land of Promise • You will face enemies and will need to call on God. • You will need to do it humbly. • You will need to do it with assurance. • You will need to do it with faith. • You will need Jesus to be your savior.

  4. Joshua Could Have Said • They will get what they deserve. • I made a mistake the first time. • This will be God’s way at getting them back for lying. • Let the civil war rage. • They can fight each other and save me the trouble.

  5. Lessons • Was Joshua wrong to make the covenant in the first place? Yes he was. • Was Joshua right to keep his word concerning the covenant me made? Yes he was.

  6. Lessons • Was God’s will accomplished even though Joshua made a mistake? Yes it was. • Paul tells us we have an awesome God. • Eph. 1:11 “God, works all things after the counsel of his own good will”.
