CASS Transition HYB to RT RF Double Wide to Single Wide
RTCASS 3
System Overview • Reconfigurable Transportable CASS (RTCASS) is a downsized, transportable version of RF CASS that meets the deployability requirements of the USMC and USAF Special Operational Capable forces. • RTCASS must emulate CASS • Run times same as or faster than CASS • All TPS perform same as CASS • Acquisition Objective: 165 • Marine Corps: 153 • AFSOC: 12
System Description • RTCASS consists of: • Eleven (11) assets in a two “bay” stack • Six (6) additional assets in frame assembly • A keyboard, monitor and arm assembly • Any single RTCASS asset weighs no more than 150 pounds in shipping configuration • RTCASS electrical and mechanical interfaces replicate the existing CASS hardware and software interfaces
MMF USMC Single Wide MMF KA-18A Delivered with RTCASS installed Reduced footprint Space saving efforts Fold up/down stainless steel table Removable ECU rails Rails will secure against bulkhead (no impact to space) New higher efficiency three ton ECU’s (2) More robust UUT blower Provides the recommended pressure and CFM for the UUT cooling Mounted on ceiling (far right corner) Insulated to avoid hearing conservation program F/W MALS will receive KA-18A’s only These sites already have TPS MMF’s R/W MALS will receiveKA-18A’s and KA-31’s KA-31 is the new TPS MMF 6
Current MMF Action Chits FAC-095 AFMS hose length Not a MMF Program Issue FAC-097 ECU Thermostat locations Recommend moving thermostat location FAC-098 RTCASS MMF’s do not come with load rails Recommend outfitting all MMF’s with holes to support rails FAC-099 Additional OTPS storage MMF’s at MALS-14 7
Future RTCASS Initiatives • Integrating Mainframe CASS High Power module to RTCASS • Available CY 2010 • Will integrate the new CASS CNI ancillary to RTCASS • Tentatively available CY 2012
Mainframe CASS Modernization Status [ 553 ] (Procured 1990 – 2003) Mainframe CASS (Hybrid – RF – CNI – HP – EO) (2004 – 2008 demo) (Procured2003 – 2010) [21] [130+ ] RTCASS RTCASS-HP
RTCASS-HP Plan • Integrate current Mainframe HP Subsystem to RTCASS • Requires physical and S/W integration • Requires TPS conversion & Regression Test Phase • Capitalize on existing CASS HPDTS double- wide vans • Installation VIA round robin at MALS sites • Twoadditional double-wide vans required to support increase from 16 CASS HPDTS to 18 RTCASS-HP
BOEING Step 4 NI Step 5 DRS Step 3 NI MALS REUSE Step 2 Step 1
Fleet Site Requirements • RTCASS-HP Fleet Sites (18 Total – increased from 16) • RADAR only MALS • MALS 11 (Qty 4) • MALS 13 (Qty 2) • MALS 31 (Qty 3) • MALS 41 (Qty 1) • RADAR & ALQ MALS • MALS 12 (Qty 2) • MALS 14 (Qty 6)
RTCASS IOC Fielding Plan RTCASS will be fielded by Platform Allows for orderly OTPS Conversion Accelerates Legacy Equipment Removal and associated Logistics Support. Allows for reallocation of Mainframe CASS for USN use Allows for orderly MOS conversion RTCASS Fielding profile allows for the phased removal of CASS stations and legacy ATE to mitigate any TPS Rehost Issues. RTCASS installed at North Island, then shipped to MALS CASS RF removal based on TPS conversions Anticipates station removal acceleration based on TPS conversion
