  1. Today’s Vocab • Magna Carta: Nobles forced King John II to sign it. It limited the power of the King and protected Nobles rights. • House of Burgesses: Created in the Colony of Jamestown. It is the first representative government in the colonies. • Mayflower Compact: Signed by Pilgrims aboard Mayflower. 2nd form of government in colonies and set up direct democracy.
