  6. Why use technology? • Student can work on specific weakness at their own pace. • Immediate feedback on most on-line practice sites. • Differentiated learning. • Different approach to language acquisition. • Internet available 24/7- students don’t have to rely on just teacher time in classroom.

  7. How it can be implemented- • School computer labs • Public libraries- extra credit • COWS • Home computers Teachers can also create some things and print them off for students to use- that would not require students to have access to a computer.

  8. Scanners • Scan in artwork to use in a presentation, worksheets to send to a kid through email or just to store on your computer, pictures etc. • Can scan magazines too- share resources!

  9. Digital Camera • Record projects, fun moments, field trips etc. • Don’t have to be fancy- mine is really basic. • Send pictures to parents of what kids are doing in class.

  10. Video Camera • Record skits, plays, presentations. • Wedding, newscasts, talk-shows… • The microphone can be tricky so make sure you practice first- otherwise you might not get great sound!

  11. Microsoft Word • Here is a way students can record themselves: • Open a Word document. • Choose INSERT, then OBJECT. • Scroll down to choose Wave Sound. • To record, click red button. • Will record for 60 seconds- can keep pushing red button for more time if necessary.

  12. Power Point • Lots of uses for this program. • Some can be downloaded from the internet for use in class. • Teachers have created reviews for their classes with these. • I have students take screen shots of games they play on the internet. • *student example* Stories

  13. Example of student score… they copy the screen and paste it on a power point slide…
