Birth Rate • the rate of births in a population over time
Death Rate a measure of the number of deaths in a population typically expressed in units of deaths per 1000 individuals per year
Immigration Immigration is the act of people moving and settling in a country or region to which they are not native
Emigration Emigration is the act of permanently leaving one's country or region to settle in another.
Infant Mortality Rate Child Mortality Rate The infant mortality rate, the number of deaths of children less than 1 year old per 1000 live births. The child mortality rate, the number of deaths of children less than 5 years old per 1000 live births.
Life Expectancy Life expectancy is the expected (in the statistical sense) number of years of life remaining at a given age.
Total Fertility Rate the average number of children that would be born to a woman over her lifetime
Literacy Rate refers to the ability to read for knowledge and write coherently and think critically about the written word
Per Capita GDP (Gross Domestic Product) The market value of all goods and services produced within a country in a given period. It is often considered an indicator of a country's standard of living
Imports A component of International Trade that deals with the number of goods a country buys or brings into port
Exports A component of International Trade that deals with the amount of goods sold or shipped out of a country
Rate of Natural Increase (RNI) The crude birth rate minus the crude death rate of a population. Apositive RNI number means that the population increases and a negative number means that the population decreases.
