  4. The Budget • DoIT had been looking at about a $900K cut • Governor’s May 7th announcement • Furloughs • Pay raise changes • Additional targeted cuts

  5. Furloughs • Many rumors • It looks like there will be furloughs • There are no details on what will happen yet • Accounts for about 3% of salary line (based on all funds)

  6. Pay Raise Changes • 2% raise rescinded for non-represented staff • Governor cannot rescind raises for represented staff • Unions in discussions • Need legislative and JOCER (Joint Committee on Employment Relations) action

  7. Additional Targeted Cuts • About 5% (of what?) • Do not know the actual number • Must be looked at in concert with cuts already announced

  8. Timeline • Expect answers in next two weeks • Many options being explored • Our leadership is in constant contact with Governor’s Office, legislators, and JOCER • Keep an eye on wisc.edu home page
