7. A Life-Saving Cow Mary lived on a farm. There was a river running through Mary’s farm. One year, in October it rained all day for seven days in a row. Mary was worried about her cows because the river was getting higher and higher and bigger and bigger. As she tried to herd her cows to higher ground, she slipped and hit her head on a fallen tree trunk.
