Wireless Network Provisioning – Includes • Separate layer 2 VLANs for Faculty/Staff, Student and Guest wireless users • Wireless network encryption (WPA/WPA2 or equivalent) for Faculty/Staff users • Restricted authentication for Faculty/Staff SSID • Guest user access with limited bandwidth and access privileges • Acceptable use policy for Guests
Wireless Network Provisioning – Includes • Development of wireless logon web pages • Wireless configuration must be included in laptop image. • Communication Plan • Development of support mechanisms(OIT Support Services knowledge base/FAQ) • Turn off existing SSID
Wireless Network Provisioning –Excludes • Upgrade to 802.11n • Infrastructure upgrades • Additional coverage areas • Network Access Control
Wireless Network – Success Measures • Zero Guest accounts created manually after August 31, 2010. • Greater than 7 ISPI score on A-5 Basic Network Security Characteristics and Wireless Network Protections increased from 5 to 10. • Elimination of VPN logon in order to reduce the number of steps Faculty and Staff are required to access resources over the wireless network.

Online Course Evaluations – Includes • Implementation of a new course / instructor evaluation system that will replace IDEA • Termination of the IDEA contract • Selection of a vendor for the solution (RFP Process) • Locally hosted software versus outside hosting determination • Determination of the evaluation instrument • Creation of a new policy on course evaluation administration
Online Course Evaluations – Includes • Distribution mechanism for evaluation data to multiple levels • Web service that can provide results in the Student Information Center (HB2504)Pilot phase during Summer 2010 • Provide features consistent with criteria in Jan. 28, memo, (distributed at meeting with Provost) • Providing Faculty and Administrators with Web-based access to reports (canned reports with minimal customization) from the solution • Dual IDEA and New System Evaluation for some selected courses in Summer terms
Online Course Evaluations – Includes • Custom development of Web User interfaces for administering the evaluations • Development of custom reports • Distribution of paper reports
Online Course Evaluations – Success Measures • 48% Student Response Rate during Fall 2010 semester • 100% of courses for main fall semester utilize this system (Only courses that fit the size requirements of HB2504 will be counted) • Evaluation results available to faculty prior to winter break in Fall 2010 • Compliance with HB2504 relating to evaluation data being publicly accessible (relates to other project) • Favorable survey results (>65%) from faculty and students on the electronic process

Storage Solution for Faculty, Staff and Students 15 Minutes Dalin Bruns Project Management Office
Storage Solution - Includes • Virtually unlimited storage to everyone starting with 5Gig (script quota changes must be a requirement of the solution) • File storage accessible via a mapped drive as well as via a web browser (off campus without requiring VPN connectivity and on campus) • Ability for students to manage and share their own files, directories, etc. • Ability to provide storage for MyApps profiles • SharePoint and Storage Point implementation
Storage Solution - Includes • Migrate existing common directories into SharePoint • Provisioning and de-provisioning criteria will be developed • Provide mapped drive connectivity for Windows (XP and higher) and Mac systems (OS 10.4 and higher) • For F/S, provide the ability to restore files going two weeks back • Development of Support mechanisms (knowledge base/FAQ) • Training for system administrators and support personnel • Policies will be developed for compliance with general law (Privacy/Security/Compliance/Acceptable use)
Storage Solution - Includes • Reporting mechanism for active accounts and storage usage will be developed • Provide historical trending and reporting of disk usage to project growth and needs for additional disk purchases • Develop provisions to restore from a disaster recovery point of view • Branding and interface customization • Communications and Marketing campaign • Remove existing “I: Drive” mapping
Storage Solution - Excludes • Student requested file restores – we will not have the ability to restore individual files. • Excludes the ability prevent certain file types (MP3’s, etc.) from being stored • Excludes mobile device access • Excludes additional SP functionality, e.g. wiki, calendar, blogs, chat, etc. • Student Organization storage, sites, etc. • Automated migration of existing “I: Drive” data into the SharePoint system • Offsite business continuity solution – we will NOT have any sort of data replication between sites.
Storage Solution - Success Measures This project will establish SharePoint as the preferred* Storage Solution for Students and Faculty/Staff • 80% satisfaction survey results from students who have logged into the system more than once • 80% satisfaction survey results from F/S • At least 25% of students utilize storage (store a file) by the end of the fall semester 2010. • Eliminate all calls to OIT Support Services requesting increased file storage. *Evidence of preferred status will include things such as number of desktop icons in colleges and departments pointing to SharePoint storage, number of e-mails instructing people to use SharePoint storage sent out by colleges and departments.)
