  4. Bluebook – Includes • A website will be developed accessible from within the UTSA homepage (3-click requirement). It will display o Link to Textbooks required or recommended by course (inc. price and ISBN #) in Follett o Course Schedule (from ASAP) o Syllabi (Section, not at Course level) o Faculty Curricula Vitae (from FAIR) o Cost of Attendance (an estimated cost based on number of credit hours) o Electronic Course Evaluations (related to project IT10-21) o Departmental Budgets when available o Link to Departmental Work Study Employment Opportunities (can be on Fin Aid web site) o Link to the Coordinating Board’s tool for calculating estimated net cost of attendance (The Higher Education Act of 1965 requires this to be on UTSA’s website by approximately October 2011) o Link to the primary federal student financial aid web site • Website will be fully keyword searchable • No logon or registration will be required to access the system

Bluebook – Includes • Data will be refreshed periodically at a rate specified by the stakeholders • Course information will be available for 5 years and then discarded. • The site will comply with TAC 206 • Module to collect Syllabi from Faculty for all sections will be developed • Completion of Audit/Review/Assessment by Compliance on the new system againstHB2504 • Ad Hoc feedback module on system usability will be built into the system • Promotional campaign • Requests for Vitae updates in FAIR

  6. Bluebook –Excludes • This system will not provide a mechanism for registering or paying for courses • The system will not support a mobile specific interface

  7. Bluebook – Success Measures • 100% of the data requirements of HB 2504 are met • 100% compliance as reported from the Audit and sent to Governor, Lt. Governor, Speaker of the House of Representatives and presiding officer of each legislative standing committee with primary jurisdiction over higher education. (Requirement from HB2504) • 100% of required Syllabi and Vitae for Spring Semester are posted by Dec 2010 • 80% of users responding to the feedback module find the system to be helpful and of value to them

  11. myApps – Includes • Resolve performance issues • Provide scalability to address future software additions and remote access • Investigate licensing of software to determine whether they are Citrix compatible and can be offered • remotely • Evaluate applications to determine which ones qualify for use in the Citrix environment • Develop process for future evaluation and installation in Citrix environment • Establish evaluation criteria • Make applications available remotely

  12. myApps – Includes • Based on evaluation, make every application that is currently available in the labs and that can be functionally and legally installed will be installed in the Citrix environment • Marketing and communications of services • Implementation of monitoring and reporting on usage of system and individual applications • Local printing (ability to print at home) • Push Citrix client to a strategic set of UTSA desktop computers • Development of Student Support mechanisms (Support Services knowledge base/FAQ) • Ability to get individual colleges to manage/maintain their available “desktop”

  13. myApps – Excludes • Student storage (separate project) • Print anywhere (separate project) • Does not include faculty and staff • Implementation of Citrix VPN • Excludes pushing Citrix client to non UTSA computers • Mobile device support

  14. myApps – Success Measures • At least 2500 unique student logins during the fall semester (from 1/1/2010 to 3/16/10 there were 694 unique logins) • 80% satisfaction survey results from those people who have logged in to the systemmore than once • 50% concurrent user licenses (based on 500 current licenses) utilized at any one point during the project

  15. Timeline • Offsite Access testing complete 8/13/10 • MyApps Support pages available 8/23/10 • New Branded Interface Launched 8/27/10

  18. IT10-03 Email Infrastructure Upgrade • New Direction • Program Timelines • Current Status and Next Steps

  19. New Direction • Program with Microsoft has an extended timeline that was not in line with our Summer Splash project goals • OIT is upgrading current environment • Will be able to deliver 5 GB mailboxes by the end of August as established in the Project charter

  20. Microsoft Program Timelines • Actually 3 programs • CTP (Community Technology Preview) July-Aug • Evaluation only, throw away environment • Beta Oct 2010 – Mar 2011 • Beta customers begin, permanent environment • General Availability – April 2011 • Begin migrating users

  21. Current Status/Next Steps • Building new/additional Exchange environments • Begin migrating some users mid Aug • Mac users may need to point to new server, others may only be required to restart email client • 5 GB mailboxes in place by the end of the month
