  1. Attendance: It is All or Nothing • Attendance is all, it’s Christianity • “I’m a church-goer” • Attendance is not synonymous with faithfulness, righteousness, salvation • It can be a sign or an indicator • Moving in a positive direction • It could be a complete sham

Attendance: It is All or Nothing • Attendance is not synonymous with worship • What do you do when you are here? • Spectator: watch members, preacher, clock • Sleep: bored, late night, require stimulation • Sashay: In and out of auditorium • Attentive to teaching (remember: put into practice, and teach it to others)

  3. Attendance: It is All or Nothing • ProperWorship Involves: • Proper God: Acts 17:23 • Proper Person: John 4:22-24 • Proper Action: Gen. 4:7 • Proper Attitude: • Joy (Ps. 122:1, 2 Cor. 9:7) • Required Drudgery (Mal. 1:13)

  4. Attendance: It is All or Nothing • Attendance is not all, it’s nothing • “It’s irrelevant to my salvation” • “I can worship anywhere” Denomination, Liberal Church, Out in Nature, In my Bed • Mark 7:7-9 Vain Worship Substitutes provided for Scriptures

Attendance: It is All or Nothing • Count on other members being there whenever we decide to attend. “They” should be there. • Sermon should be prepared and well delivered • Song leader should have numbers posted • Emblems should be on the table • Building should be clean, grass mowed, song books in racks…

  6. Attendance: It is All or Nothing • We Worship Together: • Lord’s Supper: Acts 20:7 • Contribution: I Cor. 16:1-2 • Singing: Col. 3:16 • Teaching & Praying: Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

  9. Attendance: It is All or Nothing • What do you do when you are not here? • Discourage and distract other members • Weaken your resistance to the world • Ruin your example to sinners who know you • Confuse your children about priorities • Sin (Not living up to agreement with God)
