Ecology • The study of interactions between organisms and their environment.
Environment • An organism’s environment is anything that affects the organism. • Two parts • Biotic: all of the organisms that live together and interact with one another • Abiotic: includes all of the physical factors such as water, soil, light and temperature – that affect organisms living in a particular area.

4. Ecosystem: a community of organisms and its abiotic environment.
5. Biosphere: part of the Earth where life exists. • Extends from the deepest part of the ocean to very high in the atmosphere, where tiny insects and plant spores drift and it includes every ecosystem.
