  2. What is space exploration? • Space exploration is the exploring of outer space by using space technology.

  3. Satellites • Satellites are unmanned and are sent into outer space to collect information by means of photos and video footage. • They are more commonly known as “space probes”.

  6. Inhabited Space Station • An inhabited space station, is a space station that stays in outer space. • Different astronauts go to space and stay in this space station throughout a mission. • 14 different countries contributed to making it possible for this space station to exist.

  7. Inhabited Space Station… • October 31st, 2000 was the first time this space station was used. It was a Russian crew. • They stayed for 5 months, the space station has been manned ever since. • Video (Discovery Education)
