CPS Graduation Requirements • 4 Years English • Survey of Literature • American Literature • British Literature • World Literature • 3 Years Math • Algebra • Geometry • Advanced Algebra/Trigonometry • 3 Years Science • Biology • 2 years of a Lab Science (e.g. Chemistry & Physics)
Graduation Requirements • 3 Years Social Science • World Studies • United States History • 3rd year of Social Science (e.g. Law in America) • 2 Years Fine Arts • Art/Drafting • Music • 2 Years World Language • Spanish I/Spanish II or French I/French II • 2 Years PE or ROTC
Graduation Requirements • 2 Career Credits • 3 Elective Credits • Participation in PSAE • (ACT and WorkKeys) • Driver Education • Public Law • Consumer Education • 40 Service Learning (100 for MA students)
Transcript Review & Remediation • All senior students have met one-on-one with their assigned counselor to review their transcript and graduation requirements • In order to be considered for graduation, all deficiencies must be made up by MAY 31, 2012! NO EXCEPTIONS
College Application Process • All seniors are required to complete and submit • 6 college applications, according to selectivity category (examples to follow) • At least 2 scholarship applications • Students who receive free/reduced lunch are eligible for application fee waivers • If a school does not accept a fee waiver, students are responsible for submitting another form of payment
College Application Process • Priority Deadline to Counselors OCTOBER 21, 2011 • Paper Application/Online Application • Transcript Request • Fee Waiver Completed • Priority Deadline OCTOBER 28, 2011 • Applications must be postmarked by the Post Office on this date
FAFSA • Free Application for Federal Student Aid • It is free! You should not have to use a credit card • You cannot complete it until January 1, 2012 • But you can estimate • www.fafsa4caster.gov • BEST way to prepare • Complete your TAX RETURN!
How to participate in Senior Activities • Graduation Requirements must be completed • Completed 6 College Applications • Completed 2 scholarship applications • Completed FAFSA Application • Completed Senior Exit Questionnaire (SEQ) • All student Debts and Fees must be paid
