  2. Purpose • Review 9th Grade Transcript • Review Grad Requirements • Discuss College Entrance Requirements • Begin Course Selection for 10th Grade

  3. High School Graduation Requirements • 220 total credits in the required subjects. Students take 6 classes each year • Six semesters of excellent or satisfactory citizenship • Students also need to pass the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE)

  4. Graduation Requirements • English 40 credits • Social Science 30 credits including: World History(Grade 10) US History ( Grade 11) Govt/Econ ( Grade 12) • Mathematics 20 credits: Algebra minimum • Science 20 credits ( physical and biological) • Health 5 credits • Foreign Language/ VP Arts 10 credits • Physical Education 20 credits • Elective Courses 75 credits

  8. Tips for Success • Aim for a high GPA • Take challenging courses- Course description book online • Take the PSAT in October • Get Organized! Use a student planner or personal organizer • Create a personal resume • Get to know your teachers and counselor
