RISK FACTORS • High fat diets in particular diets high in saturated fats. • Obesity can increase the risk of the cancer. • Research has shown that eating meat that has been charred or burnt will increase the risk of cancer also. • The expert recommend intake of red meat is around 90grams • Family history it might go through the family • Gender is one too, females are more likely to be at risk and males are more likely to get rectal disease. • Age chances are increasing for those 50 years and older.
PROTECTIVE FACTORS • Those who consume vegetables and legumes, which provides physiochemical called antioxidants along with a range of vitamins, including vitamins E and C are less at risk in comparison to those who have a high saturated diet. • High rich diets of fibre will decrease your chance of contracting colorectal disease. •
