  8. After Poland, period of waiting known as sitzkrieg takes place. Early spring Denmark, Norway, Belgium and Netherlands (the lowlands) defeated…sitzkrieg over France defeated in 6 weeks British troops escape at Dunkirk; nearly defeated Japan successfully attacks French Indochina.
