  5. Verb conjugation rules: • Locate the stem of the verb. (remove the –en ending from the verb) • Add one of four different endings to the stem, according to the subject pronoun used. • Add –e to the stem for the subject pronoun “ich.” • Add –st to the stem for the subject pronoun “du.” • Add –t to the stem for the subject pronouns “er,” “sie,” “es,” and “ihr.” • Add (or keep!) the –en ending for the subject pronouns “wir,” “sie (pl.),” and “Sie (formal).”
