The Pelvic Girdle • The pelvic girdle is formed from the pair of hip bones comprised of: • The ilium • The pubis • The ischium • Which join with the sacrum posteriorly and join each other Anteriorly (symphysis pubis) • They form a bassin-like girdle which supports the bladder and abdominal contents
The Lower Limb • The Femur • From the hip to the knee • The Patella (knee cap) • A sesamoid bone • Found in the tendon of the quadriceps muscle Femur Patella
