What does it mean to persuade? • Persuasion- The type of speaking or writing that is intended to make its audience adopt a certain opinion or pursue an action or do both.
Take 10-15 minutes to write a letter in which you try to persuade me to do something or think a certain way.
Why Use Persuasive Writing? • Persuasive writing expresses a writer’s opinion and tries to make readers agree with it, change their own opinions, and perhaps even take action (call to action). How to Use Persuasive Writing • Effective persuasive writing uses strong, reliable evidence to support claims.
