  2. Real World Problem Mariah and Natasha are going skating with three other friends. If tickets cost $5.00 a piece, then how much will it cost for all of them to go.

  4. Independent and Dependent The independent variable is x, the number of skating tickets. The dependent variable is y, the total cost. Since y depends on x, the total cost depends on the number of skating tickets.
