Study Abroad 101 • STUDY ABROAD COST • eCAMPUS will be charged… • SCU Tuition • Study Abroad Housing & Program Fees • Fees on a 4-tier system • OTHER EXPENSES: Students are responsible for housing upgrades, course fees, travel expenses, textbooks, and other incidental costs. Study Abroad 101 • STEP 1: GOALS • Prepare by writing down your answers to the following... • What are my goals for studying abroad? • How do these goals support my academic, career, personal, and vocational plans? • What program model will help me meet my goals? • What are my top TWO choices for program locations? • List at least FIVE courses abroad (offered by these two program options) that meet your academic goals. Study Abroad 101 • STEP 2: PETITION • Fill out online petition form on our website www.scu.edu/studyabroad by these deadlines • For Summer & Fall 2012 Abroad : • Start: December 28, 2011 (or after all Fall grades are posted on your ecampus) • Close: January 13, 2012 (NEW Extended Deadline) • Winter & Spring 2013: • Opens: TBD Study Abroad 101: Planning a Successful Study Abroad Experience
Study Abroad 101 • STEP 3: ACCEPTANCE • Accepted students will be notified by the Office of International Programs by: • January 31, 2012 for Summer & Fall 2012 programs • TBD for Winter & Spring 2013 programs. Study Abroad 101: Planning a Successful Study Abroad Experience
Study Abroad 101 • STEP 4: CONFIRM • Accepted students must sign and submit the following required forms to the Office of International Programs no later than February 10, 2012. Failure to complete these forms will result in forfeiture: • Signed Acceptance Letter • Student Agreement Contract Study Abroad 101: Planning a Successful Study Abroad Experience • Once confirmed, students will be liable for any unrecoverable expenses.
