Bend It Like Beckham Presentation by Igor and Aaron Teenage Dreams and goals
Teenage Dreams • Teenage dreams are the dreams that kids dream of during their teenage years and they seem to be pretty much the same for the majority of teenagers. • Teenage dreams are different for boys and girls for example most guys would want a nice sports car while girls would want to date someone like a member of One Direction or Justin Beiber. • This movie is focused on girls and their dreams
Teenage Dreams - Football • Both Jules and Jess have an unusual dream for a girl: being a professional football player. • Implies that the gender boundaries are stretching and overlapping.
Teenage Dreams - Beckham • Jules and Jess have both chosen David Beckham as their idol and the two main reasons are that he is exceptionally good at football and that he is good-looking. • This could be a typical teenage dream for a girl if they only liked him because he is attractive but the girls are also inspired by his football skills which is again unusual but the modern world is coming to accept it.
Teenage Goals • For most teenagers the goals are simple, to be good at a sport, to have a big house, to be rich and so on. • What a lot of teenagers don’t realize is that to pursue those dreams you have to work hard from an early age.
Teenage Goals • Both Jess and Jules are a great example of working hard to reach their goal • They face the lack of support from parents, interference with personal life and family however they are still going to the games and practices to pursue their goal.
Theme explored • The main theme that is explored in the movie through teenage dreams is equality. • Equality is shown is the possible similarity of teenage goals and dreams in different cultures and religions.
