  5. Carpe Diem

  6. Carpe Diem • Seize the day (Latin) • Make your life extraordinary • Go for it • Just do it

  7. What personal qualities do you need to make your goals a reality?

  8. Believe, Visualize • Attitude that is positive • Courage & Confidence • Knowledge & Education • Determination & Desire • Overcome obstacles, work hard • Organized action plan • Resources • Support network

  9. Goal SettingTips

  10. The Most Important Thing • The goals you set belong to you ~ not to your parents, not to your teachers, not to your boss, not to your friends. • OK, Now... • Now identify the skills you have to achieve these goals. If you’re not sure what skills you’ll need, do some research. Try the internet, library, a guidance counsellor, teachers, and other people. • Goals Can Be Turfed • Goals aren’t written in stone. Goals exist to get you closer to your preferred future. If your goal becomes something you no longer want, you can change it, rearrange it, or just plain dump it.

  11. Know What’s In Your Way • Identify the barriers to getting your goals. Lack of money? Time? Your Attitude? Write down the barriers and consider ways to overcome them. • Don’t Get Swamped • With a big, long-term goal, break it down into achieveable steps, and set those steps as short-term, “doable” goals. • Stop and Congratulate Yourself! • Acknowledge your movement forward and appreciate how far you’ve come. Hire a band and give yourself a hand!!!
