  10. FNAC > 1 cm: verdere investigatie (tenzij zuiver cystisch). < 1 cm indien verdachte kenmerken. • Echogeleid: ↓ hoeveelheid inconclusieve puncties. • Incidentie maligniteit bij resectiestukken ↑ • Aantal thyroidectomies ↓ • Kosten ↓

  12. Take-home messages • Schildkliernodules zijn frequent, schildkliercarcinomen zeldzaam. • TSH is de enige routine biochemische test • Echografie is gouden standaard • FNAC op indicatie • Scintigrafie enkel bij hyperthyroidie
