  3. ARREGLO DE ESTRASBURGO • El Arreglo de Estrasburgo referente a la Clasificación Internacional de Patentes (de 1971), entró en vigor el 7 de octubre de 1975. En virtud de este arreglo la Clasificación Internacional de Patentes es administrada por la Organización Mundial de la Propiedad Intelectual, OMPI. • Prevé un sistema jerárquico de símbolos para clasificar las patentes y los modelos de utilidad con arreglo a los distintos sectores de la tecnología a los que pertenecen.

  4. ESTRUCTURA DE LA CIP Cada 5 años de manera sistemática, la CIP es objeto de revisiones con el fin de mejorar el sistema y tener en cuenta la evolución de la tecnología. La CIP es un sistema alfanumérico y comprende las siguientes subdivisiones 8 Secciones 21 Subsecciones 120 Clases 628 Subclases 69000 Grupos * * El 10% de éstos son grupos principales
