Economy • Vietnam war helped change their economy from agricultural to industrial. • They have one of the fastest growing economies. • Exports 400,000 barrels of oil daily.
Geography • Its located in the Indochina Peninsula. • Roughly the size of Germany. • The land includes mountains, coastal lowlands, and forests.
Religion • 85% Buddhist • 8% Christianity • We chose a picture of Buddha because it shows their religion.
Clothing • A key part of clothing is known as the Ao Dai which is long padded coats. • Many men practice cross dressing. • This is because of their clothing representations.
Government • Only political party is the communist party. • Even though it is communist its economic policies are very capitalists. • President is head of state and commander in chief.

Food • Contains many vegetables. • Its based on rice and soy sauce. • Majority of it is healthy.
History • Has been inhabitant since Paleolithic times. • First dynasty was the Hong bang dynasty. • Vietnam was colonized by the French in the late 1800s.
History (continued) • 1941 Ho Chi Minh led a communist movement in Vietnam that led to the Vietnam war. • 1978 they invaded Cambodia and removed Pol Pot from power. • 1986 they began to reform the nation.
Literature • Form of literature called Ca dao. • Their main language Vietnamese is written with the Latin alphabet.
Currency • Form of currency is known as the dong. • 20,825 dongs are equivalent to one dollar. • The dong was founded in 1978.
