Early life. • Franklin was the only child of James Roosevelt and Sara Ann Delano Roosevelt. • Franklin was educated by tutors and governesses until age 14. • In 1896 Franklin attended Groton school for boys. • Franklin graduated from Groton in 1900, then entered Harvard university.
Early life. • Franklin became Harvard's school newspaper editor. • During Franklins last year at Harvard he became engaged to Eleanor Roosevelt, his fifth cousin. • Eleanor Roosevelt was the niece of Theodore Roosevelt. • They were married on March 17, 1905.They also had five children. • Franklins First job was in the autumn of 1907 Franklin became an apprentice lawyer with the wall street firm of Carter, Ledyard and Milburn. He was given no salary the first year and then a small salary to start.
Early life. • In 1910 Franklin Roosevelt was elected for New York’s state senate, in 1912 he was re-elected. • In 1921 Franklin Roosevelt contracted with polio, a incurable disease that made him paralyzed in his legs • Because of this cars he had were made with special hand controls.
Presidency • Franklin Roosevelt is the only president to be elected four times. • Franklin beat Herbert Hoover in Franklins first election in 1932 he was the re-elected in 1936,1940 and 1944. • Franklin was 50 when he first took office. • In Franklin’s “first 100 days” in office his first step was immediate relief from the great depression and world war two. He sent congress tons of bills which were all passed. • The Social Security Act • The new deal

Death • Franklin Roosevelt's health was worse in 1945 and on April 12, 1945 in his home while signing letters and documents while talking with friends and family Franklin D. Roosevelt died of cerebral hemorrhage or a stroke. • Franklin died while still serving his fourth term of presidency.
