Project Problems • Multi-language dictionary: Ottoman, Modern Turkish and English • There are no online Ottoman dictionaries • Three-way communication: Local clients (Prof. Andrews and Prof. Waters), Turkish expert (Prof. Tezcan) • Brief history of Ottoman language • Goal for this project: • Build an online Ottoman-Turkish-English three-way dictionary that is accessible by the public • Word entry can be entered under supervision of Prof. Tezcan. • On going process that will continue by others after this project finished.

  6. Our plan for next steps • Implementation stage: • Database model – ER diagram • Look for available open source code • Study PHP and MySQL • Create a small database for testing • Evaluation stage: • Prof. Tezcan will verify the work • How fast can one search for a word?
