First Things First $150 per day for 7.5 hours All subs should be available for a full day of work. Even if the teacher you are subbing for is part-time, we may need you in another spot. If you find yourself finished early, please check with the office before leaving. Cut-off is 2nd Friday of each month You will receive a pay stub with your direct deposit payment. Log-in Changes for Subs We are using Smart Find Express as our absence management system. FIRST - Register by Phone at 360-215-3388. You will need an Access IDfrom us and will be asked to record your name and set a 6-digit pin number. THEN – Log in using your Access ID and PIN Our Crescent School District landing page is https://crescent313.eschoolsolutions.com .
Call Times & Dates Calls to solicit for a substitute teaching job will only be made during these times: 5:30 am to 7:30 am – Today’s Jobs 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm – Future Jobs You can restrict these times further in your personal settings. You can also set your calendar to block out dates when you will not be available for taking calls/jobs.

Check-In, Check-Out • Upon arrival, check-In at the district office: • Sign in! (this is used for payroll – pretty important if you like being paid) • Obtain key, class rosters, and computer login (if needed) • The “Substitute Book” will be in the teacher’s classroom. • Pay for lunch, if desired. Lunches must be pre-purchased at the district office; the lunchroom is not equipped to take payments. If you find yourself a frequent lunch buyer, talk to the business office to obtain your own lunch code, and then you can pre-pay for multiple lunches at one time. • At the end of the day: • Leave the class roster in the Substitute Book. • Leave Substitute Book on teacher’s desk. • Lock up and return key to office, then sign out. If you are leaving before the end of the school day, please document the time (new procedure). • If your day looks like it will end before the end of the school day, ask a school administrator if you are needed elsewhere. • Last Minute Cancellations • If you accept a job, but have to make a last-minute cancellation, please call the District office. If you leave a voice-mail message, please leave your name and the teacher’s name.
Computer Access & Attendance • Computer Access: • See Kathy Silva for: • A temporary login into the computer system, or • Your own login into the computer system • Required – Signed Employee Electronic Use Agreement • Neither the district nor the teacher will provide access to the classroom teacher’s data or gradebook • Taking Attendance: (modified from last year) • Mark attendance on the class roster for each period (only at the beginning of the day for elementary). Send a student runner to bring the roster to the office. • Attendance should be taken within the first 10 minutes of class.

Current teaching or substitute certification – must register with our district. If your certificate has an expiration date, also please register with us at every renewal. • Fingerprinting • Application & Sexual Misconduct Forms • Payroll/Hiring Compliance • W-4 • I-9 (SS & DrLicense) • Direct Deposit • Retirement • Hours are reported to DRS. Substitutes can purchase service credit for retirement, and should contact DRS for more information. • Sick Leave • Subs earn one hour of sick leave for each 40 hours worked.
