Why do we need IT governance • The reputation of any statistical office – and trust of those who contribute data to it – are of paramount importance. • As technologists, we must work closely with those that are our customers and business partners to introduce the necessary controls so that there is a shared and consistent accountability. • This is the rationale for IT Governance within ONS.
