Iowa Retail Initiative: Advocates • Identify 5-10 retailers within each of the 5 Regions • Quarterly online discussions • Share feedback at ISU Stakeholders • Link identified needs to ISU resources
Iowa Retail Initiative: Train the Trainer • Target delivery date: Spring 2015 • CEEDs, Chambers of Commerce and Economic Developers • 5 regional training sessions plus a Statewide symposium during Summer 2015 Create an educational offering for local use, dealing with Retail design and marketing issues.
Student Community Projects Bringing together Community Retailers and ISU students with the goal of providing new design / marketing upgrades for their local business. • Project Target: • 80 retailers • 140 students • 2-5 communities

Retail shopping environment design Importance of creating: • efficient, • user-friendly • aesthetically pleasing spaces which focus on the intangible social aspects of client consumption. Student work will address access to the retail locations, space planning, retail identity, visual merchandising, fixtures, and code compliancy.
