  2. Did you know… • The NHS employs about 1.35 million people in England. • There are more than 350 careers in the NHS. • As well as doctors and nurses, there are speech therapists, art therapists, chefs and even gardeners!

  3. Enter our competition to learn more about the careers in the NHS. You could win a prize!

  4. What you need to do? • Look at www.stepintothenhs.nhs.uk and choose a role in the NHS that interests you. • Perhaps someone helped when you were poorly and you would like to do a job like them? • Once you have chosen your favourite role, create a job advert that you and your friends like. • You can work on your own or in a group of four

Select a role that you find interesting and prepare an advert to tell other young people about it. • The following websites have information that will help you. • Use www.stepintothenhs.nhs.uk to find out more about the role you have chosen • Look at www.youtube.com/nhscareers to see videos on the roles in the NHS and some of the previous competition entries. • Visit www.facebook.com/stepintothenhs to see what careers other young people are talking about.

  7. Top tips • Think about what you’re going to do. Maybe a video, a poster or radio advert?   • Try to make the role interesting to young people by making it creative, fun and lively. • Find out what the role involves and who they work with. • You may find the videos on the NHS Careers Youtube channel helpful -http://www.youtube.com/nhscareers
