Writing-Speaking-Listening • Kindergarten/1st grade Productions & Distribution of Writing Comprehension & Collaboration W.6 (Grade 1): With guidance & support from adults, use a variety of digital tools to produce and publish writing, including in collaboration with peers. • www.storybird.com Guide to Storybird Setup.pdf Storybird is a free site that allows teachers and students to create digital “e-books”. These books can be shared over the internet with peers, other classes, and parents. Comments & feedback can be left and used for reflection, improvement, and comprehension purposes. Teachers can open or close the comment section to whomever they want. Type a FULL PAGE by 3rd? • This skill is something that will begin in K with very basic keyboarding on a pretend QWERTY printable keyboard. • By second semester of K through first semester of 1st, students will see pictures of the keyboard around their classrooms. • From second semester 1st grade to the end of 2nd grade, students will be using netbooks, laptops, or other computerized devices/handhelds to access word processing programs for writing practice.
