About Us….. • UGSOA Local 25 is a labor union, committed to ensuring that our members receive fair treatment, job security, competitive wages, adequate health care coverage, dignity, and respect in the work place. Our members are dedicated to safeguarding Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station in Plymouth MA
What we do… • Provide Representation for complaints, grievances, and arbitrations • Negotiate contracts, wages, and benefits • Ensure Employees rights are protected • Provide guidance and explanation of the CBA to our members who may want to file a grievance • Represent All Members Equally • OUR MEMBERS ARE OUR NUMBER 1 PRIORITY
What we do NOT do.. • We DO NOT force people to join in union activities • WeDO NOT harass • We DO NOT discriminate against who we represent • We DO NOT release personal information to 3rd parties
Union Dues & Initiation Fees • Initiation Fee $40.00 • Union Dues2 Hours Pay per Month • Where your money goes –, 1⁄2 goes to the International for Attorneys Fees, negotiationfees, and arbitrationcosts – 1⁄2 stays with the Local for, Negotiation fees, Meeting expenses, Lost time for union officials, and day to day union expenses – NO UNION FUNDS GO TO POLITICAL CAMPAIGNS
Your Rights…. • To self-organization To form, join, or assist labor organizations • To bargain collectively through representatives of your own choosing • To act together for the purposes of collective bargaining or other mutual aid or protection
Weingarten Rights… • If a supervisor or the boss asks questions that could lead to disciplinary action, UGSOA members have the right to ask for a UGSOA steward or other union officer. • This protection extends an important part of the USA's legal tradition to he workplace: the right to representation. • This is something all UGSOA members should know ... • Workers have an important right to on-the-spot representation in any situation involving actual or potential disciplinary action. It's something every steward and every UGSOA member should • "If this discussion could in any way lead to my being disciplined or terminated, or affect my personal working conditions, I request that my UGSOA Steward or union officer be present at the meeting. Without representation, I choose not to answer any question. (This is my right under a Supreme Court Decision called Weingarten)
