Lesson Planning • Why is it important? • You can set goals (re: objectives) • Script out your activities. • Keep time • Stay on topic/ activity set. • Allows to anticipate gaps in lesson or knowledge. • You can plan for accommodations. • Documentation of progress and professionalism

Objectives • Objectives should be simple, clear and measurable. • After X input(s), student will achieve Y output(s). • Short term (a single lesson) • Ex. After reading about and explore objectives, students will be able to generate at least 2 learning objectives for their own lesson plans. • Long term (a unit or series of units) • Ex. At the completion of the teaching and leadership course, students will be able to successfully design and deliver a lesson to their peers.
