Background • October 1, 2006 – Oversight of decommissioning RTRs was transferred to FSME/DWMEP • Transfer allows for efficiencies in the RTR decommissioning process - Experienced decommissioning staff - Refined decommissioning process - Established timeliness goals for completion of decommissioning actions
STATUS • Project Management by DWMEP/FSME • Decommissioning Plan and Final Status Survey Plan reviews performed by FSME staff • ORISE performs Confirmatory Surveys • Inspections done by experience NRC Regional Staff • Operator licensing continues to be performed by NRR
