Transportation • Automobiles, Canals, Railroads and Steam Powered ships • You can move goods and people around the world cheaper and faster, this means you can make more money • You need cheaper labor = bring in from Asia • You need to get more natural resources = send them on a steam powered ship • You need more markets to sell items = put them on a railroad and send it to sell

  4. Innovation • Technology speed up communication • You can now speak to people remotely • You can move products without needing nature (bye wind and foot power) • Build: bigger, stronger, faster, better, cheaper = this allows you to grow

  6. Immigration • People from all over the world saw America as an opportunity • And America had lots of room and space to put people • They came from all over Europe and Asia • Eastern Europe = Northern USA think Minnesota • Irish = East coast from Boston to Savannah • Asia = the West Coast
