What we know… NO NOTES • A word picture is a description of a scene or situation. • It is made up of sensory details (touch, taste, hearing, smell, sight). • Using a word picture allows the reading to see, touch, taste, hear, and smell what the writer describes.

Now let me tell you why it was so great. • It was a very hot day. Sweat was dripping down my face as a passed by the BBQ grill. I could smell the chicken and baked beans roasting over the open fire.
