  2. Long-term Goal • Adopt 21st Century Teaching approaches to enhance students appreciation of language.

  3. Short-term Goals • Change my question strategies with students to promote critical thinking. • Immediate action is taken to help children who a re identified and referred. • The interactive whiteboard is used on a continuous basis. • To develop knowledge, skills and understanding in literacy and communication through listening, speaking and reading.

  4. Instructional Strategies and Tasks • I will provide more opportunities for students to answer questions that require higher-order thinking. • I will provide students with time for group discussion. • The lending library is available on a weekly basis for all classes with the help of teaching staff if necessary. • Reading Sessions held on a school basis. • Inviting authors to talk to children. • Children are encouraged to take part in National Competitions.

  5. Solutions to Anticipated Challenges • The principal may not agree with my new approach. • Parents may not understand my methods. • There may be some students who do not want to work together. Solutions I will share the course manual and my notes from this course with my principal. I will use my new word processing skills to create a news letter to inform parents of my new methods. • Special morning assemblies are held regularly. • Display area is regularly updated.

News Letter Sample Class: Prep -Roses By Ms.Huma Baig June, 22, 2011 • Dear Parents,Greetings and hope this finds you all in good health. • On a different note, last week felt like summer again with the warm weather urging us outside for various activities and water play. • What will happen in next week • Last week at preschool the children enjoyed the playing, laughing, and singing with friends • Remember! • The school play will be on Friday. • Bring the family. • Thank You for supporting your child’s learning.

Resources • Other teachers who teach my same grade and subject. • Internet; Software for Primary and Kindergarten. • Headphones to be used in class by children with special needs or pupils working individually on computers to avoid disturbing the rest of the class. • Interactive whiteboard. • Teachers’ Laptops and Class Computers. • Maintenance of Puppet theatre. • Fancy costumes of fairy tale characters • Financial for buying equipment, furniture and books and for maintenance of the environment.
