GROW Saturday Workshops How it works • Attended by 40-80 middle school participants, usually all female • Participants are split into groups, around 10-12 students per group • Groups rotate through a variety of activity sessions throughout the day • K-State faculty & Students design and facilitate activities for the participants What should an activity look like? • Related to the theme of the event • Hands-on, appropriate for age group • 45-50 minutes in length
GROW & EXCITE Summer Workshops • Takes place in June, 3 days, Wednesday – Friday • Participants attend activities in groups of 10-12 students, by age • GROW – middle school • EXCITE – high school • Faculty & student led activities take place during business hours • No set theme, purpose is to expose students to a variety of STEM careers and disciplines • Activity Sessions can be 1-3 hours in length, and can be split into multiple sessions • We provide small budget for activity supplies
SUCCEED “Women in STEM” events • Evening social events for undergraduate and graduate student • Can add academic or professional development component • Tailored to fit your interests or area of expertise
