  2. Introduction • Famous inventor of the telephone • Found a teacher for Helen Keller named Anne Sullivan • Taught teachers how to teach the deaf

Childhood • Born on March 3rd, 1847 • He lived in Edinburgh Scotland. • Chose his own middle name, “Graham”. • Made a talking machine that looked like a robot head with his brother Melville • Alexander’s grandfather tried to change Aleck. • Aleck and Melville taught 2 or 3 children everyday school things where they lived. Aleck and his brother were not adults yet when they did this.

  4. Young Adult • Brothers died from tuberculosis . • Alexander met Indians at the warm place he moved to. • Learned their war dance.

  5. Adult • Taught the deaf when he was an adult. • Alexander taught two kids that were deaf and important to him. Their names were Mable (16) and George (5). • Used a special glove to teach George. • Alexander even taught teachers how to teach the deaf.

  6. Why he is famous • Decided to make a speaking machine. • Called his speaking machine the telephone. • His invention worked. • People started to love the telephone.

  7. Ending • Telephone is still a working invention. • People everywhere remember him . • Died on August 2,1922.
